A Dental Bridge is a fixed dental prosthesis used to replace missing teeth by joining the prosthetic tooth to the adjacent teeth. Bridges are fixed upon the patient’s natural teeth and are not removed/repositioned in the mouth as is the case with removable restorations. Bridgework requires the existence of healthy adjacent teeth as they will support the prosthesis. Dental bridges can be all-ceramic (made solely of porcelain) or metal-ceramic (combining metal and porcelain).
