Foul Breath

is a constant problem in everyday life, as an approximate 30% of adults over the age of 60 suffers from foul breath. It also occurs in younger individuals at a lower proportion.

How can foul breath be treated?

  • Discuss the issue with your dentist, who will be able to give you advice on the proper care of your oral cavity and your overall dental hygiene.
  • Make sure to schedule regular scalings (teeth cleanings) -every six months.
  • Do not neglect to seek treatment for oral health problems, especially caries and periodontitis (gum disease) as these are often the cause of foul breath.
  • Dentists often collaborate with other specialists (otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists) to deal with the issue.
